I was about to post just a random comment about the Daily Show in here yesterday, but now I have something else related to post: According to a survey by Annenberg (PDF with statistics), Daily Show viewers are more informed about the election than pretty much anyone else.

The random comment was about how painful the whole intro news segment is. Oh, it's funny still, but there's this whole undertone of "holy crap, are we screwed." Of course then afterwards, you cut to commercial and come back and you have gay penguins (and who doesn't love that?), which sort of helps ease the pain a bit. ;)

So, how does everyone think this effects stuff? My take: it likely won't stand for long, probably just they'll put them under normal copyright or something. But it's interesting anyhow.
Found that from Lessig's blog. I'm finally getting around to reading Free Culture (got it from the library, but you can read it online or listen to the audiobook), which is very interesting so far, and slightly less dry than the last one of his I read. (Which was terribly interesting, but I kept falling asleep. It doesn't work as well.)

And now I'm off to have garlic bread and noodles and things.
