Hmm... I think I volunteered myself to have a discussion on spectrum rights in my CS seminar class.
(Today, we watched a random video from PBS a few years ago on media and politics and special interests and all that fun stuff. It was interesting (and reminded me that McCain is awesome), but only tangentially related. They did bring up a bit of the Telecommunications Act, though, about how they just gave away the digital spectrum rights to the broadcasters (when they could have honestly sold them for a few (hundred?) billion dollars and funded lots of really good stuff), and so my prof was asking why that's relevant to computer geeks. I ventured a small "....Cause it's...digital?" and was told (I'm not sure if he meant me specifically or the class in general) to be ready to talk about that on Thursday. That's what I get for speaking up. ;))
Maybe I should just go all Lessig and talk about how the spectrum should be deregulated. <g>
Yay for overly nested parentheses!
