Today and yesterday were pretty quiet. Friday was too, except I took a little trip up to "Historic Downtown Bryan" on a digicam excursion.
Now is the part where I test your will by subjecting you all (or at least those of you who click) to pictures.
On my way up there, I got stopped by the train, so I decided to pull over in front of this shop and take some pictures of it.

And then I pulled on into Bryan and started wandering down the street, taking pictures. I started off right next to this corner of a building, and I liked the way it looked so much, I took 3 pictures of it from different angles.

Another "hotel" (it's currently empty):

A museum and the hypnotizing brickwork in front of it:

An old movie theater:

I played with the contrast on this picture a bit in the Gimp, and it came out really cool, but I'll put it at the end since putting it next to this picture would give me a headache. ;)
A little theater (I have no idea who that is that was there yesterday):

This building looked really gorgeous inside, but it's obviously in disrepair. I tweaked the contrast on last two pictures on it to make it slightly easier to see the since the window I was taking the pictures through was so dirty:

More random stuff:

The super-tweaked movie theater photo:

And a silly picture as reward for making it through all this:

Date: 2004-06-13 08:39 pm (UTC)I think my favorites are the brickwork one and the barber pole...but I like the 'HOTEL' one a lot too.
As for that last one..........*SNORK*

Date: 2004-06-21 08:41 pm (UTC)Aside: do you know if A&M has any VT100's left? Last time I was here (95-96) the Blocher lab and most of the dorm labs were VT100's, and I SO wish I could play with them again!
(BTW added you to friends list. If you don't like random strangers doing that I'll fix it. :) )
Re: Downtown Bryan?
Date: 2004-06-25 09:55 am (UTC)The terminals are gone now. We just have Dells and Gateways and Apples in the OALs now. Even the terminal *emulation* programs (like BONFIRE (http://www.tamu.edu/admissions/records/registration/Bonfire.html)) are starting to get phased out.
And I'm fine with random people via LJ....That's how I got to know
