Heroes

Okay, what the heck was the deal with this cropping up in Heroes about 5 times tonight?

(I noticed it in Mohinder's daddy's "hard disk" (whatever), the pool at the murder scene, some paintings, and on Peter's doodle, it may have been somewhere else too.)

I hope this turns out better than Lost. ;) (Although some of the things that bug me about Lost may bother me less in the context of superheroes. A lot of the things that bug me about Lost though are fairly universal.)

I was all prepared to be ready to drop this show after this week given the horrendous setup of the previouslies. Just awful. I think I'm going to have to avoid that and the promos too in the future, because they seem to be set up exactly to push all of my "this is bad TV" buttons.
And there's still a fair amount of clunkiness going on in general. Hiro? Don't pick up the gun you notice after a trail of blood, it's just generally not a good idea. And shizophrenia is a super power? And Mohinder? She's a Nazi. Did we learn NOTHING from The Last Crusade?! Also, isn't your (dad's) apartment really freaking huge?

But damn if I wasn't all geeked about Peter flying (thought process: "...Uh, is this blocking off? That post isn't that wid-- oh. YAY!"), although I'm still not sure that's his power. And I still have irrational love for Nathan.

And HAHAHAHA to freaking palm trees. In Odessa. Holy crap, I nearly died laughing.

I noticed that too, and went "Aha! Lost-style plot point!".

And yeah, it does seem a little cliched\hackneyed at times, but you know what? It's also about superheroes, so that oddly doesn't bother me much.

LOVED the scene with Peter, though. That was great.

I was about to say, they're trying to be Lost.
